This set includes a total of 13 facial expressions of emotion displayed by expressers from Sumatra, Indonesia. The set includes two examples each of the universal expressions of anger, contempt, disgust, happiness, sadness, and surprise, and one example of fear. The set also includes two faces reported to be anger emblems – culture-specific facial gestures that have the meaning of anger (although our research has yet to verify this). This set is ideal for researchers who wish to study facial expressions of expressers of visibly different cultural groups.
