What are Micro Expressions?

While most facial expressions last for two or three seconds, micro expressions last only a fraction of that - 1/25 of a second. They occur when people are deliberately concealing how they feel, or when people have blocked from awareness (repressed) the emotions they are experiencing. While most of us miss these valuable signs of concealed emotions, the Micro Expression Training Tool METT will enable you -- in about an hour -- to spot most of them. The facial expressions of anger, fear, sadness, disgust, contempt, surprise and happiness are universal - the same for all people.

How to get started

In about an hour you can learn to spot micro expressions - those fleeting telltales that flash across our faces. You will also learn to unmask the concealed emotions that these facial expresions represent. The current version, Micro Expression Training Tool 2.0 is the revised and improved version of METT 1.0.

Previous users of METT 1.0 include government agencies (e.g. The US Departments of State and Defense), Fortune 500 corporations, attorneys, health practitioners (Mayo Clinic), mediators, negotiators and counselors. TAKE THE FIRST STEPS to undestanding what the face can reveal.

We are currently completing programming of the METT 2.0 training -  you can email us at mettonline@paulekman.com to be placed on a notification list for when the website is ready. Please accept our apologies for this delay as we wish to ensure an excellent training product.
